Development Engineer to join the Core Technology Group of a well-established and fast-growing advanced technology company. The CTO group is focused on supporting existing and developing future technologies related to high precision motion systems drawing from the areas of materials, physics, mechanics, electronics and control.
Job responsibilities
The development engineer should gain expertise in the areas of materials, processes, and operation modes of ultrasonic motors as well as understanding in motor mechanics, drive, and control of motion systems. Then utilize this knowledge to handle technological support and development projects in the areas of physics, materials and ultrasonic motor operation. For example, perform modeling, simulation, and experimental validation of motor performance, including force-velocity characteristics, thermal behavior, and dynamic response. Over time, leading multidisciplinary development projects, involving multiple stakeholders, towards supporting and improving existing and developing new company products.
The work will involve a combination of theoretical analysis with practical work in the laboratory, cooperation with mechanics, system and electronics departments, project managers, external experts and external vendors.
The daily work usually involves working on multiple projects in parallel to achieve pre-set due dates and milestones.
Job requirements
Education:
- Academic degree covering one or more of the following fields:
- Material Engineering, Applied Physics
Work Experience:
- At least 5 years of working in research and development (R&D)
Skills:
- Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary environment including mechanics, optics, electronics, software and control
- Ability to cooperate with multiple project stakeholders within the company to execute projects per plan
- Experience in operating laboratory equipment, experiment planning, execution and data analysis
- Ability to innovate leading new technology research
- Self-motivated and capable of leading and performing tasks end to end
- Advanced proficiency in Business English, including communication skills in both written and verbal forms. Candidates need to communicate with clients, colleagues, or stakeholders who are native speakers.
