A Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Administrator oversees the entire lifecycle of a product, from conception and design through manufacturing, service, and disposal. The role involves coordinating various departments, managing product data throughout the PLM/ERP systems, and ensuring efficient processes to bring products to market and maintain them throughout their lifecycle. Overview: The Product Data Control Admin will be responsible for overseeing the product lifecycle, including design, development, production, service and end-of-life processes. This role ensures that all company phases of the product lifecycle are effectively managed, leading to high-quality product delivery, cost efficiency, and customer satisfaction. The Product Data Control Admin will lead and ensure the company configuration control is execute throughout the PLMERP system by working closely with R&D, Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Sales, and other departments to streamline product development and improve the overall process.
Key Responsibilities:
- PLM System Management:
- Configure and maintain the PLM system (Siemens Teamcenter) to support product data management.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of product information, including bills of materials (BOMs), specifications, HW/SW design files, and full related regulatory standards and quality documentation.
- Perform regular system updates, of ECOs, backups, and maintenance to ensure the smooth operation of the PLM/ERP platforms.
- Build and maintain follow-up processes to ensure short time to decisions and implementation of ECR/ECOs.
- User Support & Training:
- Provide technical support to users, troubleshooting issues and resolving system-related problems.
- Train new users on PLM software features, functionalities, and best practices.
- Create and update Product Configuration Control, Cataloging procedure and Teamcenter user manuals, guides, and training materials.
- Data Management & Workflow Automation:
- Manage product data, including setting up product structures, revisions, and versions by Engineering Changing Request/Order
- Develop and implement workflows, templates, and automation tools to streamline product development processes.
- Ensure data is correctly categorized, linked, and accessible to relevant teams.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements within the product lifecycle and to enhance PLM system efficiency and effectiveness.
- Develop best practices for product design, manufacturing, and quality assurance.
- Work with R&D, Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and other departments to understand their PLM/ERP requirements, propose and implement solutions.
- Assist in developing PLM/ERP strategies to optimize product development and lifecycle management.
- Compliance & Security:
- Ensure compliance with data security standards and regulatory requirements.
- Manage user access controls and permissions to protect sensitive product information.
- Monitor and address any data discrepancies or security issues within the PLM system.
Job requirements:
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience working with PLM systems (e.g., Siemens Teamcenter, PTC Windchill, SAP PLM, Agile) and Priority system – a significant advantage
- Strong understanding of product development processes and data management.
- Experience with system configuration, troubleshooting, and user support.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to investigate and resolve problems.
- Ability to interpret complex mechanical or electro technical drawings – advantage
- Strong reading comprehension of assembling instructions and procedures. – advantage
- Ability to work good in tight deadlines and pressure.
