From Linear to Goniometric Stages: Keep it Standard

Keep it Standard Diverse applications in Biomedical Instrumentation, Semiconductor Inspection and Metrology, seem to have a common thread when it comes to motion control. Keep it simple with standardized axes that are readily available and competitively priced. While the application base often dictates different levels of performance, standard motion platforms, with a "building block" approach can offer the ability to configure a unique and competitive solution. Standard stages, providing linear, rotary, Z-vertical, and angular motion can be combined with various encoder resolutions, travel requirements, and motor sizes to meet a wide range of demanding requirements. All stages are available in standard, vacuum and UHV configurations. Nanomotion's family of standard stages consist of: Linear StagesLinear Stages Nanomotion's linear stages utilize precision crossed roller bearings and an optical linear encoder, typically mounted down the center of the axis. Stages are available in 50mm, 75mm, 100mm and 150mm widths. They are offered with a variety of motor configurations and travels up to 300mm. Rotary StagesRotary stages Nanomotion FBR60 provides encoder resolution from 0.5 arc second to 5 arc second encoder resolution with the ability to work with a single HR2 or dual motors, to increase torque. The stage uses a rotary crossed roller bearing to provide high load capacity and stiffness. Vertical StagesVertical Stages A Z-wedge stage drives a cross roller axis horizontally, but translates to pure vertical motion. The horizontal and vertical axes are all guided with precision linear bearings and an optical encoder that can directly control the vertical position. Goniometric StagesGoniometric Stages Precision tip or tip/tilt can be provided with a series of standard goniometer axes that provide tip travel to +/- 10°. There are two pairs of goniometer stages that can rotate about a common radius point, with an optical encoder mounted in the center of each axis.
